ZOREAL Sign
Alternatives to PandaDoc
PandaDoc is a document workflow product for proposals, quotes, contracts and forms with e-signature built in: a recipient is invited by email, optional verification steps sit in front of the signature on the Business and Enterprise plans, and on download PandaDoc signs a hash of the completed PDF with its own key held in a hardware security module. ZOREAL Sign is a surface in the ZOREAL dashboard for preparing a signature dossier, sending it through its recipients and recording every step in an append-only event log that is sealed, attested by ZOREAL and timestamped by a public authority. This page sets the two side by side on identity binding, evidence, pricing, integration and certifications.
Information last reviewed 10 September 2026. Compared: PandaDoc’s e-signature workflow, identity verification options and completion evidence, as its help centre describes them, against ZOREAL Sign; the proposal and quote builder, CPQ, content library, payments and PandaDoc Notary are out of scope, and pandadoc.com itself could not be loaded on 10 or 11 September 2026.
Where ZOREAL Sign and PandaDoc differ
Layers of signature
ZOREAL Sign offers several layers of signature: AES for standard business-to-business contracts, everyday business agreements and non-disclosure agreements, and QES for high-stakes cross-border transactions, regulated corporate and government use, real-estate deeds and formal government filings.
Free plans shaped differently
PandaDoc’s Free eSign plan is $0 for 60 documents per year with two recipients per document and unlimited seats, and its plan table lists no audit trail on that plan; Starter is $19 per user per month on annual billing (help centre, September 2026). ZOREAL Sign: Free for 3 dossiers a month; unlimited dossiers on Premium; 3 dossiers sent per month, unlimited signing of your own documents, and signing a document you receive is always free; the audit trail, timestamps and evidence bundle are on both plans.
Where the seal lives
PandaDoc signs a hash of every completed PDF with its own private key, held in a hardware security module under a certificate from Entrust, at download; Acrobat checks it against PandaDoc’s public key and reports a modified file. ZOREAL Sign signs a detached attestation over the bundle hash, the documents’ digests and the stored PDF’s digest, ES256 plus ML-DSA-65 under two ZOREAL Document Signing CAs with an RFC 3161 timestamp from a public authority, verifiable offline from the bundle and two pinned roots.
Identity step-ups sold today
PandaDoc’s Business and Enterprise plans add a passcode, an SMS code, an email code, knowledge-based questions or an ID Check against a government-issued ID in front of the signature, and a qualified electronic signature through European trust service providers at $5 per signer. ZOREAL Sign binds each signature to a legal entity by possession of the invited mailbox, or a ZOREAL account signed in under the invited address, plus the adopted name the person typed.
Side by side
Feature and pricing comparison between ZOREAL Sign and PandaDoc e-signature, based on public materials reviewed on 10 and 11 September 2026.
| Attribute | ZOREAL Sign | PandaDoc |
|---|---|---|
| Cryptography | ZOREAL Sign uses post-quantum certificate chains and encryption. Every event (viewed, email confirmed, adopted, signed, approved) is a row with actor, IP address, user agent and both clocks, hash-chained to the previous one, with the original documents’ digests as leaves and a root sealed at Send. When the log closes, the completed PDF is rendered once and stored with its SHA-256, the bundle hash is stamped on every page, and ZOREAL signs a detached attestation (a compact JWS, ES256 plus ML-DSA-65 under the two Document Signing CAs, KMS custody in production) over the bundle hash, the documents’ digests and the stored PDF’s digest, with an RFC 3161 timestamp from a public authority over the ES256 signature. The attestation is verified on every audit-trail print. | On download, an algorithm runs “creating a hash value based on the PDF content” which is encrypted with the PandaDoc private key, stored in a hardware security module, under a certificate from Entrust; each time the PDF opens in Acrobat the value is deciphered with the PandaDoc public key, and a mismatch means the document was modified after completion (help centre, protected PDFs). The seal is PandaDoc’s key over the download, not the signer’s. Which PAdES level it reaches is not stated in the articles read. No post-quantum statement appears on the pages read. |
| Signer identity, default | A legal entity per signer, one per email address, born with a P-256 key. A signature is bound to that legal entity by possession of the invited mailbox, or a ZOREAL account signed in under the invited address, plus the adopted name the person typed. The emailed link connects the signing session to the invited mailbox, and the email confirmation is itself an event in the log. | An emailed invitation. Verification on the Business and Enterprise plans: a passcode, an SMS one-time code (“100 SMS verifications per year” included on annual plans, then “a minimum of 50 SMS for $0.40 per SMS”), an email code, knowledge-based authentication, and ID Check, which “Validates the recipient’s identity using a government-issued ID”. Prices for ID Check, KBA and the email code are not stated in the article read. |
| Signature levels | ZOREAL Sign offers several layers of signature: AES for standard business-to-business contracts, everyday business agreements and non-disclosure agreements, and QES for high-stakes cross-border transactions, regulated corporate and government use, real-estate deeds and formal government filings. | ESIGN and UETA, whose four core requirements PandaDoc states it “is designed to satisfy”; eIDAS Simple, Advanced and Qualified Electronic Signatures: “PandaDoc supports all three” (help centre compliance article, which states that it does not constitute legal advice). |
| Trust behind the top level | ZOREAL’s QES has the highest trust in the market, because it requires a government-linked physical ID biologically linked to the person signing. | QES through third parties “listed as European trusted service providers” such as Evrotrust, with 16 or more eID methods including Smart-ID, Mobile-ID, itsme, Swisscom and Swedish BankID, on the Business and Enterprise plans; “Each unique signer requires one QES credit, which costs $5”; PandaDoc generates a Certificate of Signatures with QES metadata, validated with the European Commission validation tool (help centre, QES article). |
| Evidence produced | An append-only, hash-chained event log; the completed PDF stored once with its SHA-256 and the bundle hash on every page; a detached ES256 plus ML-DSA-65 attestation with an RFC 3161 timestamp; an audit-trail PDF; verifiable offline from two pinned roots. The evidence bundle zip holds each burned PDF, Audit trail.pdf, Events.json and Attestation.json, and the attestation is verified on every audit-trail print. | A Certificate of Completion with sent, viewed and completed timestamps on Starter and above (the plan table lists no audit trail on Free eSign); the downloaded PDF sealed with PandaDoc’s HSM-held key, “All PDF copies of signed and completed PandaDoc documents are protected”; for QES, a Certificate of Signatures with QES metadata. Whether the Certificate of Completion is itself sealed is not stated in the articles read. |
| Pricing | Free: 3 dossiers sent per month; "Sign your own and received documents for free." Premium: unlimited dossiers sent, private template collections, fillable PDF import. Both plans: 20 documents per dossier ("Up to 64 MB and 100 pages per document"), signer, approver and copy roles, signing order and reminders, the field editor, the public template library, "Typed, drawn and phone QR signatures", "Audit trail, timestamps and evidence bundle", "Signed PDF and completion email". Listed as "Coming soon": signer-key signing with ZOREAL ID (Premium), ID document check before signing (metered per check), SMS step-up verification ("Ask about pricing"), bulk sending, Sign API and dossier webhooks, embedded signing, signing on behalf of a company. Premium is priced per user, monthly or yearly, with two months free on yearly billing; every organization member is a paid Premium seat; metered usage is charged separately. Enterprise: contact us. Signing a document you receive is always free. Current prices are on the ZOREAL price list at zoreal.com/pricing. | USD, from PandaDoc’s help centre, read 11 September 2026 (the public pricing page answered HTTP 429): Free eSign “$0” with “60 per year (2 recipients/document)”, 5 templates, unlimited seats; Starter “$19/user/mo” on annual billing or “$35/user/mo” monthly; Business “$49/user/mo” annual or “$65/user/mo” monthly; Enterprise “Contact Us”. SMS or ID verification, QES and the API are paid add-ons on Starter and Business and included on Enterprise; a free 14-day trial. |
| API and integrations | In the browser, from the ZOREAL dashboard: the editor, the details page, documents by status and templates. An invited recipient opens their own signing link from the email and acts without creating an account; the link connects the signing session to the invited mailbox, and a matching signed-in account is the other way in. Copy recipients receive the finished copy when the dossier is completed. | API keys with sandbox and production on the Free plan for accounts created after 5 June 2026, with “60 annual document sends” and “1,000 annual document creates”; a paid add-on on Starter and Business, included on Enterprise; API prices are not stated in the public materials we could read (the API pricing page returned 404). Payments through Stripe, Authorize.net, Square, PayPal and QuickBooks on paid plans. |
| Data handling and retention | What a signer enters is saved as they go, locked when they finish and snapshotted onto the audit event. The completed PDF is rendered once when the log closes and stored with its SHA-256. The dossier and its media are retained; a completed dossier is evidence and cannot be destroyed, because its attestation restricts destroy at the model (it is archived instead). The audit trail records the IP address, user agent and both clocks of every event and is printed with the result of a verification run. A retention period is not stated on zoreal.com as of September 2026. | Separate EU and US server versions with differing feature availability (help centre, PandaDoc EU vs. US); hosting regions and a retention period are not stated in the article read. |
| Certifications stated | Organization-level, as zoreal.com lists them for Bynn Intelligence, Inc.: SOC 2 (attestation), PCI DSS (SAQ A), GDPR (data protection), ISO/IEC 27001:2022 (information security certification) and CSA STAR Level One (cloud security self-assessment). No signature-scheme certification is claimed for Sign; nothing in the hierarchy is named a qualified signature or seal, and no Sign-specific certification is stated on zoreal.com as of September 2026. | “Annual SSAE 18 audit; report available upon request” (SOC 2 Type II); “PandaDoc is fully HIPAA-compliant”; dedicated 21 CFR Part 11 compliant workspaces (help centre compliance article). ISO 27001 is not stated in the articles read. |

Where ZOREAL Sign and PandaDoc agree
Both attribute a signature to the holder of the invited mailbox by default: the invitation goes out by email and the person who opens it is the person the record names. Both route a document through its recipients, record who did what and when, and produce a completed PDF with a separate completion record, PandaDoc’s Certificate of Completion and ZOREAL’s audit-trail PDF.
Both seal the completed output with the vendor’s key rather than the signer’s. PandaDoc signs a hash of the downloaded PDF with a key in its hardware security module; ZOREAL signs a detached attestation over the bundle hash under its two Document Signing CAs, with production keys in KMS custody. On both, a person who receives a document signs it without paying, and both publish a free plan and per-user paid plans.
Where the two part is scope and what sits in front of the signature. PandaDoc is a proposal and quote workflow with signing inside it, and its Business and Enterprise plans sell a passcode, SMS, an email code, knowledge-based questions, an ID Check and a $5 qualified signature. ZOREAL Sign is a signature dossier only, and its evidence bundle, with the attestation and the public-authority timestamp, is on every plan including the free one.
